Security Professional of the Year (2014) - ASIS International National Capital Chapter
Scott is a fast learner - he left home when he was sixteen to start a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. After completing three years of the degree program, Scott realized electrical engineering was not for him and left school to pursue other opportunities.
Within a year, Scott enlisted in the Air Force where he was assigned to join the 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron at Cannon AFB, NM. He quickly applied himself and took advantage of many excellent training opportunities. During his six years in the military, he successfully completed the Close Precision Engagement Course (sniper school), special weapons and tactics (SWAT) training, and Krav Maga Instructor certification as well as multiple other courses. He also finished an A.A. in Criminal Justice, a B.A. in Security Management, and rounded out his education with an MBA with a concentration in Global Business Management.
After leaving the Air Force in 2013, Scott joined a local security company and aggressively pursued professional certifications through ASIS International. He achieved board certification as a Physical Security Professional (PSP) in 2013 and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) in 2015. Scott promoted quickly and by 2017 he had managed the security programs at more than 40 buildings spread across the Washington D.C. metro area. Additionally, he also managed the security company's regional office in Northern Virginia and conducted multiple security reviews for clients in the D.C. metro area.
Currently, Scott is the Senior Director of Global Corporate Security for a large international company specializing in engineering, program management, environmental services, disaster recovery, complex facility maintenance, and construction services.
Scott and his wife have lived in Virginia since 2013 when they moved to the area after getting out of the Air Force.
